"A punctiform gamma radiation source with a high intensity is produced from a suitable metal powder, such as iridium or cobalt, which may optionally be enriched. The powder is melted to form small spheres with the aid of an arc, which are flattened to form small disks, which, after they have been irradiated, are remelted, in this case using an arc, to form a small spheres."
